Daisy the Duck stood at the edge of the pond, gazing longingly at the distant hill where a grand, white cottage with a red roof and blue shutters gleamed in the sunlight. She fluffed her feathers, imagining herself splashing in a marble bath and serving tea to friends in a sunny garden.
"One day, I'll have a house like that," she whispered to herself, determination lighting her eyes.
Daisy traced her wingtip along the path toward her dream cottage, plotting the journey through the bustling meadow, across the noisy farmyard, and into the mysterious woods beyond. She packed a small satchel with crumbs and shiny pebbles—her meager savings.
"Adventure awaits, and so does my dream house," she declared, heart thumping with excitement and a hint of fear.
Daisy tiptoed past the hens, ducking low as the sheepdog stirred. Suddenly, a hen squawked, and the dog leapt to its feet, barking furiously.
"Oh no, I must hurry!" Daisy quacked, darting between the fence slats and narrowly escaping the dog’s snapping jaws, her heart pounding as she tumbled into a patch of tall grass.
Benny the Beaver, a clever builder with a broad, toothy grin, poked his head out of the log, curious about the commotion. Daisy explained her quest, showing Benny her map and sharing her dream.
"You need strong wings and stronger friends for a journey like this," Benny said, offering her a small pouch of polished stones for luck and advice on crossing the swift brook up ahead.
A sudden splash startled Daisy, but she steadied herself, remembering Benny’s encouragement. With each careful step, her confidence grew, and soon she reached the far bank, breathless but triumphant.
"Every adventure brings me closer," she said, shaking the water from her feathers.
Daisy approached the cottage, her heart fluttering. She presented her pouch of pebbles and stones to the kindly duck realtor, who quacked with delight and handed her a shiny brass key.
"Welcome home, Daisy. You earned every feather of this," the realtor smiled. As Daisy waddled through the front door, she knew every peril and friend had shaped her adventure—and her dream had finally come true.
