Daniel glanced at his friends, a grin spreading across his face. Edy was already setting up the chessboard, while Alexa and Alex kicked a soccer ball back and forth. Teo watched, pondering their next game. "Let's start with a round of chess," he suggested, eager to engage in their favorite pastime.
Edy moved his knight, capturing a pawn with a swift hand. "Check," he declared confidently, his eyes locking with Daniel's. Daniel studied the board, contemplating his next move. "Well played, but the game isn't over yet," he replied, countering with a strategic move that left Edy momentarily puzzled.
Alex picked up the soccer ball, tossing it to Alexa. "Let's see if you can score this time," Alexa teased, her eyes sparkling with challenge. Teo joined them, ready to defend the makeshift goal marked by two backpacks.
"Go, go!" Alex shouted, dribbling past Edy with ease. Daniel sprinted to intercept, his eyes on the ball. "Not so fast!" he called, managing to steal it and pass to Alexa, who took a shot at the goal. The ball sailed through the air, narrowly missing the mark.
Teo sat up, curiosity piqued. "Hey, have you ever checked out those trees?" he asked, pointing towards the secluded area. Intrigued, the group made their way over, discovering an inviting nook hidden from view.
Alexa settled down, admiring the peacefulness. "This could be our new secret base," she suggested, her tone conspiratorial. Edy nodded in agreement, excitement in his voice. "We could plan our next adventures here, away from the prying eyes of adults," he added. Daniel, always the leader, smiled at his friends, imagining the countless games and stories they would create in their newfound sanctuary.
