Marika peeked through the kitchen door, her nose wrinkling at the sight of her mom busily shaping endless balls of sticky rice. "We have to get out of here before she notices," Sarika whispered, nudging her sister. The girls exchanged a knowing glance, their hearts set on a Chick-fil-A feast rather than another rice ball lunch.
Marika's unicorn, a creature of shimmering white with a mane of silver, pawed the ground eagerly. Meanwhile, Sarika's dragon, a small but mischievous beast with emerald scales, snorted little puffs of smoke, eager for the adventure. "Ready, Sarika?" Marika asked, swinging onto her unicorn's back. "Let's go before Mom finishes her batch," Sarika replied, climbing onto her dragon.
The sisters urged their magical mounts forward, the unicorn's hooves barely making a sound on the mossy ground while the dragon's wings beat rhythmically, lifting it just above the path. As they ventured deeper, the forest seemed to hold its breath, aware of their quest. Marika leaned closer to her unicorn. "We've got to be quick," she murmured. Sarika nodded, scanning the path for any signs of trouble.
Sarika signaled to Marika, pointing to the narrow path that skirted the giant's lair. Carefully, they guided their creatures around the edge, holding their breath with every step. "Don't wake him," Sarika whispered, her dragon's eyes wide with mischief as if contemplating a prank.
Marika and Sarika exchanged a glance, knowing they had to outsmart the troll. "What about a trade? We'll give you this shiny stone," Marika offered, holding up a gem she'd found in the forest. The troll squinted, curiosity piqued. "Or," Sarika added, "you could have some of our mom's rice balls." The troll grimaced, quickly waving them across the bridge.
Marika laughed triumphantly, her unicorn prancing with delight, while Sarika's dragon soared overhead, spinning in elation. They reached the Chick-fil-A, the smell of fried chicken greeting them like an old friend. "We did it!" Sarika cheered, dismounting and rushing inside. "Next time, let's bring some for the troll," Marika joked, as they settled down to enjoy their well-earned feast.
