Jenjumped into the car, super excited. Her backpack was stuffed with games and snacks. Max , her little brother, followed, holding his favorite toy dinosaur tight. Their mom Mrs. Anderson and dad Mr. Anderson got into the front seats with a map and coffee.“ Ready to go?” Mr. Anderson asked. “Buckle up, everyone!” Mrs. Anderson said.
Max leaned forward and looked out the window. “I spy something green!” he said. Jen looked around. “The big tree!” she guessed. Max laughed and nodded. “You got it!” They burst into giggles and started their next game, “Guess the Animal.”
The family stopped the car to take a break and unpacked sandwiches and juice boxes. Mrs. Anderson spread a checkered cloth on the picnic table. Jen and Max raced to the swings, laughing as the wind blew around them. “Don’t forget to eat, you two!” Mr. Anderson called, waving a sandwich with a smile.
Jen pointed excitedly. “Look, a farm!” Max pressed his nose to the window, watching the animals eat grass. Every new sight made them more excited, and their excitement grew with every mile.
Max started singing a song, his excitement spreading to everyone. Jen clapped and sang loudly, her voice filling the car. Their parents joined in, and together they made a happy, noisy symphony. “Road trips are the best!” Max shouted, his eyes sparkling with joy.
Jen and Max leaned back in their seats, happy and dreaming about their next stop. Mrs. Anderson and Mr. Anderson shared a smile, thankful for the fun memories they were having. “I can’t wait to see where we go next!” Jen said softly, her voice full of excitement.
