Cora flapped her wings, feeling both the exhilaration of flight and the weight of responsibility. The flock depended on her to guide them southward, away from the encroaching cold. Yet, as the leader, she couldn't shake the thought of Finn, the friend who had gone missing last autumn.
"I need to find him," Cora murmured to herself, her gaze drifting to the distant mountains where Finn was last seen.
Cora led the flock in a graceful arc, her mind swirling with possibilities. Gwen, her trusted confidante, flew up beside her, eyes filled with concern.
"Cora, are you alright?" Gwen asked, her voice barely audible over the wind.
"I can't stop thinking about Finn," Cora admitted. "What if he's still out there?"
Cora stood at the water's edge, her reflection rippling in the moonlight. Eli, the eldest of the group, approached with a slow, steady gait.
"You're thinking of changing our course, aren't you?" he said, his tone gentle yet firm.
"I have to, Eli. I owe it to Finn to at least try," Cora replied, determination hardening her voice.
Cora took a deep breath, feeling the energy of the new day seep into her bones. With a firm nod, she addressed the flock.
"We've come this far together. I ask for your trust one more time. Let's find Finn and bring him home," she declared, her voice strong and unwavering.
The geese followed Cora, their formation tight and their spirits high. She led them with a renewed sense of purpose, each beat of her wings a promise to Finn and to herself.
"Together, we will find him," Cora thought, her heart buoyed by hope and the unbreakable bonds of friendship.
