Ethan, Serah, and Lizette huddled together, their eyes wide as they realized they had wandered away from their safari group. The jungle seemed alive around them, each rustle in the undergrowth sending a shiver up their spines.
"What do we do now, Ethan?" Serah asked, her voice trembling slightly.
"We stick together and find a way back," Ethan replied, trying to sound braver than he felt.
Lizette clutched Serah's hand tightly, her small face a mixture of fear and determination. They moved cautiously, every snapped twig a reminder of the lurking dangers.
"We have to keep moving," Ethan urged, scanning the dense foliage for any signs of a path or familiar landmarks.
"They're taking her away!" Serah whispered urgently.
Ethan nodded, formulating a quick plan. "We have to help her. I'll distract them, and you two get her away," he instructed.
With a deep breath, Ethan stepped into the clearing, shouting and waving his arms. Lizette and Serah took the opportunity to sneak around and release the terrified baby girl.
The baby elephant raised its trunk curiously as Lizette giggled, reaching out to touch its rough skin.
"He's friendly!" Serah exclaimed, relief washing over them.
Ethan smiled, feeling a sense of camaraderie with the gentle creature. "Maybe he can help us find our way out," he suggested.
The children followed, their spirits lifted by the elephant's presence. The jungle no longer seemed as menacing; instead, it felt like an adventure with their new friend.
"Look, there's the path!" Serah cried, pointing to a familiar trail leading back to safety.
Lizette waved excitedly, "We found our way back!" she cheered.
Ethan and Serah shared a look of triumph, knowing they had faced their fears and emerged stronger.
"And we made a new friend," Ethan added, smiling at the baby elephant that had been their guide and protector.
