Xavi sat cross-legged on the floor, tracing her finger over the faded leather of the suitcase, while Zel crouched beside her, his eyes sparkling with anticipation. The sound of birds chirping outside was interrupted by the excited rustling of papers and whispered plans. "Are you sure it works?""The legend says it does—just a twist of the handle and a wish," he replied, voice trembling with hope.
As Xavi twists the handle, light bursts from the suitcase, unfurling into a swirling portal. The siblings exchange a nervous glance, gripping each other’s hands tightly before stepping forward. The room blurs and dissolves, colors and sounds blending into a tunnel of magic. "Here goes everything!"
Zel stumbles onto the cobblestones, blinking in the sudden brightness, while Xavi steadies him, both marveling at the riot of colors and scents. Bronze lanterns swing overhead, casting intricate shadows, and the air buzzes with life. "This is incredible! Look at all the colors, Zel,""And listen—the city is singing," he whispers, awe-stricken.
The merchant’s eyes twinkle as he slides the map towards Zel. Palm trees and hidden oases are drawn in shimmering ink, a red X marking a distant spot beyond the city walls. The merchant leans in close, voice low and mysterious. "What’s at the X?""It looks like an adventure," he says, heart pounding.
Their shadows stretch long across the sand as they climb each dune, the heat softened by the excitement in their chests. Occasionally, a gust reveals ancient tiles or half-buried lanterns, remnants of old stories written in the earth. In the distance, a mirage shimmers, beckoning them onward. "Just a little further, Zel. I can feel it,""I hope there’s treasure—or maybe a genie!"
Zel rushes forward, dropping to his knees beside the chest as Xavi kneels beside him. Their fingers intertwine over the lock, and as they open it, a burst of laughter and music escapes, swirling around them. Inside, treasures of every kind glimmer—coins, scrolls, and a small, enchanted lantern that pulses with gentle light. "We did it, Xavi! Real magic,""And it all started with a suitcase and a wish,"
They exchange tired, triumphant grins, their clothes dusted with desert sand and their hearts full of wonder. Outside, the world is just as they left it, but they both know it’s changed forever. As the sun sets, the suitcase sits ready, waiting for their next adventure. "Promise me we’ll go again,""Whenever you’re ready,"
