Lila stood by her bedroom window, her eyes wide with excitement as the first snowflakes danced through the air. "It's finally here!" she exclaimed, her breath fogging up the cold glass.
Lila bundled in her favorite blue scarf, ran to Max's house first. She knocked insistently, her gloved hands leaving prints on the frosted door. Max, a tall boy with a mischievous grin, answered, already wearing his thick winter coat. "Ready for the best snow day ever?" "You bet! Let's get Ella and hit the park," he replied.
Ella, vibrant and full of energy, was waiting for them, her cheeks rosy from the cold. "I thought you'd never get here! Let's start with a snowball fight," she challenged, scooping up a handful of snow with a playful glint in her eyes.
Lila ducked behind a snow-laden bench, launching a barrage of snowballs at Max who was busy building an impressive snow fort. "You'll never get through my defenses!" he shouted, his voice filled with mock bravado. Ella joined in, her aim true as she hit Lila with a perfectly timed throw.
Ella took a sip, savoring the warmth. "You know, I've always admired how you guys are always there for each other," she confessed, her voice softer. Lila smiled, touched by her friend's words. "That's what makes us a great team," Max added, his gaze sincere.
Lila, Max, and Ella lay back on the snow, gazing up at the stars that peeked through the clouds. "This was the perfect snow day," Lila whispered, a smile playing on her lips. "And the best part is, it's just the beginning," Ella replied, her eyes sparkling with the promise of many more adventures to come.
