"Are we ready to hit the road?" Tom asked, a smile stretching across his face as he adjusted the rearview mirror.
"I'm ready for some riddles!" Ben exclaimed, bouncing in his seat.
"Let's get this adventure started," Mia chimed in, settling into the backseat next to her brother.
"Alright, first riddle of the trip: What has keys but can't open locks?" Tom asked, glancing at the rearview mirror to catch his children's reactions.
"A piano!" Ben shouted triumphantly.
"Good one, Dad. Here's mine: What can you catch but not throw?" Mia challenged, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Hmm, that's a tough one," Tom mused, tapping the steering wheel. "A cold!" Ben interjected, giggling.
"Remember that time we got stuck in the rain at the amusement park?" Mia reminisced, prompting a shared chuckle.
"And we all squeezed under that tiny umbrella," Tom added, grinning at the memory.
"I got so wet! But the hot chocolate afterward was the best," Ben said, beaming with the warmth of the memory.
"Hey, what if we play a prank on Dad?" Ben whispered to Mia, his eyes full of mischief.
"What do you have in mind?" Mia asked, intrigued.
"Let's pretend we forgot something important, like his favorite hat!" Ben suggested with a giggle.
"Dad, did you bring your hat?" Mia asked, feigning concern.
"Oh no, did I leave it at home?" Tom replied, patting his head.
"Just kidding, it's right here!" Ben laughed, pulling the hat from behind his back.
"You got me, you little rascals," Tom said, shaking his head with a chuckle.
"This has been the best road trip," Mia remarked, leaning back to watch the sky.
"It's these little moments that make it special," Tom agreed, his heart full.
"And all the riddles we solved!" Ben added, yawning contentedly.
As the car rolled onward, the family basked in the glow of laughter and love, their road trip etched in their hearts as a cherished memory.
