Nanna adjusted her riding hat, a smile playing on her lips as she glanced at Chandler. "Ready for another adventure, Chandler?" she asked, her voice filled with excitement.
Chandler chuckled, patting the neck of his horse, Apollo. "Always ready, Nanna. Let's see if Luna and Apollo can outpace the wind today," he replied, his eyes sparkling with anticipation.
Nanna leaned forward, urging Luna to go faster. The feeling of freedom was intoxicating, and she relished every moment. "Isn't this the best feeling in the world?" she exclaimed, her voice barely audible over the wind.
Chandler nodded, matching her pace. "Nothing else compares. Just you, me, and the open sky," he shouted back, the joy evident in his tone.
Nanna slowed Luna to a trot, her gaze fixed on the approaching storm. "Looks like we might get caught in the rain," she remarked, a hint of concern in her voice.
Chandler squinted at the sky, his expression thoughtful. "We should head back soon. But first, let's take a moment to enjoy the view," he suggested, gesturing towards the distant hills.
Nanna felt a knot in her stomach as she sensed the shift in the atmosphere. "Chandler, do you think we'll make it back in time?" she asked, her voice tinged with worry.
Chandler hesitated, then sighed. "We'll be fine, Nanna. But... there's something we need to talk about," he said, his tone suddenly serious.
Nanna turned to him, curiosity and apprehension mingling in her gaze. "What is it, Chandler?" she prompted, her heart beating faster.
Chandler took a deep breath, the words caught in his throat. "I just feel like sometimes... we don't talk enough about what's really important. Like our future," he confessed, vulnerability in his eyes.
Nanna nodded, understanding dawning in her eyes. "You're right. Maybe it's time we start having those conversations," she agreed, determination in her voice.
Chandler smiled, relief flooding through him. "Then let's promise to be honest with each other, no matter what," he suggested, extending his hand.
Nanna took his hand, feeling the warmth of his promise even through the chill of the rain. "I promise," she affirmed, ready to face whatever storms lay ahead together.
