Mia stands at the edge of the school courtyard. Her heart beats fast. She holds her backpack tight. She feels nervous but also hopeful. "I can do this," she says to herself. She takes a deep breath to feel better.
Peter sees the shy new girl. She looks lost. He smiles and walks to her. His sneakers make a sound on the floor. "Hey, you look lost. Do you need help?" he asks kindly.
Mia feels happy for his help. She nods and says, "Yes, please. I am Mia," and she smiles a little.
Peter takes Mia to the library. It is quiet there. As they walk in the aisles, Peter tells her stories about the school.
"I heard there is a secret door here," he whispers excitedly. Mia feels curious. She wants to find the adventure.
Mia and Peter stop. They look at each other with big eyes. Mia reaches out and touches the hidden door. "Wow! We found it!" Peter says, excited.
"What do you think is inside?" Mia asks, feeling a mix of fear and excitement.
Mia and Peter look at each other. They take a step together into the dark place. Their steps make soft sounds. The air gets cooler. "Stay close," Peter says softly.
Mia and Peter look around. They feel amazed. "This is amazing," Mia says happily.
"Our adventure is just starting," Peter says, excited to explore. They walk forward, ready to see what they will find.
