David glanced at his son beside him, Eli, whose eyes were wide with excitement. "Ready for an adventure, champ?"
"Absolutely, Dad! I can't wait to see the stars," Eli replied, his voice bubbling with anticipation.
David and Eli worked together to pitch their tent. The crackle of the unfolding fabric was comforting, a prelude to a night under the stars. Eli struggled with the tent poles, but his father's guiding hand steadied him.
"Remember what I taught you? It's all about patience," David said, smiling as Eli nodded, determined.
David and Eli sat side by side, the fire's glow reflecting in their eyes. Eli leaned forward, eager for a story. "Did Grandpa ever tell you about the time he got lost in these very woods?" David began, his voice rich with nostalgia.
"No way! What happened?" Eli asked, his curiosity piqued.
David paused, lost in thought. Eli watched him, sensing a deeper story. "Your grandpa was a brave man, but he always said that fear can teach you more than courage ever will," David mused, his gaze lifting to the stars.
"Is that why we're here, Dad? To learn?" Eli asked softly.
David nodded, his heart full. "Yes, Eli. And to make memories. Every moment like this is a lesson, a story we write together," he said, wrapping an arm around his son.
"I'm glad we're writing it, Dad," Eli replied, leaning into his father's warmth.
Eli's eyes were wide with wonder, tracing the constellations his father pointed out. "See that one? That's Orion," David whispered, his voice a gentle guide.
"I see it! It's amazing," Eli breathed, his heart filled with the magic of the night.
