Evelyn and Lucas stood at the edge of the village, their breath visible in the cold air. Evelyn's cheeks were rosy, and Lucas looked up with a smile, his eyes reflecting the joy of winter. "I love how the world looks like a snow globe," Evelyn said, her voice filled with wonder.
Lucas watched the changing colors with awe. "It's like nature's own masterpiece," he remarked, nudging Evelyn with his elbow. She nodded, pulling her scarf tighter around her neck. "Let's build a snowman before it gets too dark," she suggested.
Lucas placed the final snowball on top, stepping back to admire their creation. "He needs a hat," he declared, pulling his own beanie off and placing it on the snowman. Evelyn clapped her hands, "Perfect! Now he just needs a face," she laughed, adding stones for eyes and a carrot for a nose.
Evelyn and Lucas sat on a nearby bench, sipping hot cocoa from a thermos. "Days like this remind me of why I love winter," Evelyn said softly. Lucas nodded in agreement, "It's not just the snow, it's the memories we make," he replied.
Evelyn stood up, brushing the snow from her coat. "We should head back before we freeze out here," she chuckled. Lucas followed her lead, "I can't wait for another day like this," he said, as they walked back to the warmth of their homes, leaving the snowman to watch over the sleeping village.
