He sends another representative, a digital storyteller who had helped design the immersive reading nooks and was seemingly close to Elvin once upon a time. “Surely, Elvin will recognize him, and they have enjoyed virtual and digital experiences!” When he gets there, he finds the place to be a party scene. Somi discredits him and his work publicly, and then proceeds to block him from entering the premises any further. Elvin blackballs his work with other Cornerstone Cafés across the nation. This results in the storyteller disappearing from the café and storytelling scene and causes great concern for Grayson. Janie, the last of the employees who worked directly with Grayson, tries to mediate and advocate for the work that Grayson has put into that legacy. She tried to show the others that how they were treating his representative and mentees was completely wrong. They shut her out, and she finally leaves in tears, realizing that Elvin is rewriting the story of Cornerstone, erasing Grayson’s fingerprint. She emails Grayson and says that the fire and passion that he once sparked have not been put out.
