Miss Ava, the cheerful and creative teacher, stands in the center, holding a shiny silver bell. "Good morning, thinkers! Today, we’ll have a Christmas adventure that links to everything we’ve learned in our IB class," she announces, her eyes twinkling.
Noah, a curious and open-minded boy, cracks open his envelope first. A riddle unfolds: "To find the Christmas star, you must be a communicator and an inquirer—ask questions, share ideas, and explore together!" Laughter and excitement ripple through the group as the children quickly realize they must work as a team.
Layla, the thoughtful risk-taker, suggests they use the IB attitudes they discussed all semester. "Let’s be principled and caring—even if we want to win, we should help each other," she says, organizing her friends into groups to find the next clue.
Jasper, the reflective thinker, kneels beside the poster. "Maybe the best part of Christmas is being balanced—celebrating, but also thinking of those who might need a friend," he shares. The group decides to create cards for neighbors and collect toys for charity as part of their Christmas adventure.
Miss Ava gathers the children in a circle. "You’ve shown every part of the IB learner profile today—not just as students, but as friends and citizens of the world. That’s the true spirit of Christmas," she says, placing the glowing star on the tree.
As the day ends, Noah looks around and smiles. "I think the best present is learning how to be our best selves—together," he says, and everyone nods in agreement, feeling the warmth of friendship and the joy of giving.
