Oliver, a curious boy with bright eyes and a well-loved backpack, kneels by the creek as his loyal dog, Maple, sniffs at a patch of moss. Suddenly, a vibrant green frog with large, shiny eyes hops out from behind a smooth stone, pausing directly in front of them.
"Hello there, little frog! Are you lost?"
The frog sits, tilting its head expectantly, as if trying to say something important.
Oliver gently places the frog back in the water, but within moments, it leaps out and follows him and Maple along the winding path. No matter how many times Oliver returns it to the creek, the frog keeps coming back, its eyes wide and determined.
"Maybe it likes you," Maple barks softly, wagging her tail.
"It really doesn't want to say goodbye. Maybe it needs our help," Oliver wonders aloud, watching the frog hop anxiously at his feet.

Oliver decides to listen, sitting quietly as the frog croaks in a pattern that almost sounds like a message. Maple leans in, ears perked, sensing the frog’s urgency.
"Is something wrong in the woods? You want us to follow you?"
The frog bobs its head, then springs forward, glancing back every few hops, urging them to come along.
Oliver, Maple, and the frog weave through tangled roots and soft moss, following secret trails. They cross fallen logs and leap over trickling streams, laughter mixing with the frog’s insistent croaks.
"This is more exciting than chasing squirrels," Maple barks, tail wagging.
"I think we're close, Maple! Look at how fast our friend is hopping," Oliver says, feeling a spark of adventure.
The bright green frog rushes to the trapped frogs, croaking anxiously. Oliver kneels beside the net, his heart pounding as he realizes the urgent problem. Maple sniffs gently at the tangled mess.
"Don't worry, we'll save them," Oliver says, carefully lifting the net with steady hands while Maple helps nudge it aside. One by one, the frightened frogs wriggle free, leaping into the safety of the soft grass.
Oliver sits with Maple and the bright green frog, watching the family reunite. The frog turns to Oliver, eyes shining with gratitude, and gives a final, happy croak.
"You didn't just follow us home—you led us to help," Oliver says softly.
As dusk settles and fireflies begin to dance, Oliver, Maple, and their new friend share a magical moment, knowing their kindness and teamwork made a difference. The frog hops back to its family, but the lesson—and the friendship—will last a lifetime.
