Sam knelt beside the creek, his fingers trailing through the cool ripples as he searched for something special.
Alex, his loyal and playful dog, bounded back and forth, tail wagging furiously, nose twitching at every new scent.
Frog, a plump green frog with enormous eyes and a mischievous grin, suddenly hopped onto a smooth stone right in front of them.
"Look, Alex! It's the biggest frog I've ever seen!"
"Ribbit! Hello there! Mind if I join your adventure?"
Alex cocked his head, ears flopping, and then gave a friendly bark of agreement.
"Sure, you can come with us for a little while," Sam laughed, scooping Frog gently into his palm.
Alex[/@ch_2] chases him in circles, barking playfully. Sam watches, giggling, until he realizes it’s time for the frog to go home.]
"Okay, Frog, let’s get you back to the creek where you belong," Sam said, trying to sound firm but smiling.
"Ribbit! I’ll see you soon, friends!"
With a gentle goodbye, Sam released Frog into the cool waters, watching as he disappeared beneath a lily pad.
Sam[/@ch_1]’s cozy bedroom. Suddenly, a familiar croak echoes from behind a pile of books. The frog leaps out, landing squarely in the middle of Alex’s bed, causing a flurry of barking and hopping.]
"Woof woof! How did you get in here, Frog?"
Sam bursts into laughter, rubbing his sleepy eyes, as Frog bounces around with joyful abandon.
"You’re one stubborn frog! Back to the creek again," he says, still grinning as he scoops up his persistent friend.
Sam[/@ch_1] and Alex make yet another trip to the creek, carrying Frog in a little bucket. The frog seems delighted, splashing happily as he’s set free, only to wink mischievously before vanishing into the reeds.]
"Mom says patience is a virtue," Sam muses aloud, watching as Alex sniffs the air and looks for their green companion.
"Maybe Frog just likes our company,"
"Ribbit! You bet I do!" comes a faint croak from somewhere in the grass.
Sam[/@ch_1] sits on the porch, Alex curled beside him, when the frog appears once again, this time carrying a tiny flower in his mouth.]
"I brought you a present! Thank you for being such good friends,"
Sam accepts the flower with a smile, realizing that sometimes, the best surprises are the ones that keep hopping back into your life.
"You’re always welcome here, Frog—just try not to scare Alex at breakfast tomorrow,"
"I’ll keep an eye out!"
And as the stars begin to twinkle above, the boy, the dog, and the frog settle into a comfortable pile, laughter and friendship filling the night.
