Johnny watched as Grandma Ruby moved around the kitchen, her hands hesitating over the stove. "Remember, Grandma? We’re going to Central Park today!" he reminded her, his voice full of encouragement.
Ruby paused, her eyes momentarily distant. She smiled warmly as she recalled, "Oh, of course! How could I forget?"
Johnny sat cross-legged on the floor, petting Max. He whispered, "Why does Grandma forget, Max?" as if seeking answers from his furry friend.
Max nuzzled against Johnny's hand, offering silent comfort. Johnny imagined Max replying, "Sometimes, memories fly away like birds, but love can help them find their way back."
Johnny held the box triumphantly, "Let’s play, Grandma!" he exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
Ruby chuckled, her laughter echoing the joyful memories. "Oh, I remember playing this with you!" she said, her eyes twinkling with delight.
Johnny watched Ruby as she carefully placed a card, her movements slow but deliberate. "Even if you forget sometimes, Grandma, I’ll remember for both of us," he promised, his heart full of hope.
Ruby squeezed his hand, "And I will always love you, Johnny, no matter what happens!"
Johnny whispered to Max, "Grandma may sometimes forget, but I’ll make sure our love story is always remembered." His eyelids grew heavy as he drifted into a peaceful sleep, comforted by the warmth of love that surrounded him.
