Ravi walked home from school with a spring in his step, his backpack bouncing with each stride. As he passed by the garden, something caught his eye—a small, playful puppy tumbling over itself in the grass. Its fur was a mix of browns and whites, and its eyes sparkled with mischief. Ravi stopped, enchanted by the little creature's antics, and couldn't resist stepping closer.
"Hey there, little buddy," he said, kneeling down to stroke the puppy's soft fur. The puppy wagged its tail vigorously, licking Ravi's hand with pure delight.
Ravi's heart swelled with excitement as he decided to take the puppy home. He imagined all the fun they would have together—playing fetch, sharing secrets, and forming an unbreakable bond. Carefully, he picked up the puppy, feeling its warmth against his chest.
"You're coming home with me," he whispered, grinning from ear to ear.
That night, however, Ravi faced an unexpected challenge. The puppy whimpered continuously, its small cries echoing through the quiet house. Ravi tried everything to comfort it—wrapping it in a warm blanket, offering it milk, and even singing a lullaby. But nothing seemed to help.
"Why won't you stop crying?" he asked, his voice tinged with worry.
Anita, Ravi's mother, entered the room, her expression gentle and understanding. Anita had always been a source of wisdom and comfort for Ravi.
"Ravi, dear, sometimes love means letting go," she explained, sitting beside him. "The puppy might be missing its mother. It's important to consider how others feel too."
Ravi listened carefully, realizing the truth in his mother's words.
Determined to do the right thing, Ravi returned to the garden with the puppy in his arms. As he approached, he noticed a larger dog pacing anxiously near the edge of the garden. The puppy wriggled with excitement, recognizing its mother.
"Go on," Ravi urged softly, setting the puppy down. The reunion was immediate and heartwarming; the mother dog nuzzled her pup, and the puppy's cries turned into joyful yips.
Ravi watched the happy scene unfold, a sense of peace washing over him. As he walked home, he felt a newfound understanding of love and sacrifice. It was a lesson he knew he would carry with him forever.
"I did the right thing," he whispered to himself, his heart brimming with pride and a deeper appreciation for the world around him.
