Alice stood at the edge of the hallway, her eyes scanning the sea of unfamiliar faces. Her heart raced with excitement and a touch of nervousness. "This is it, a new beginning," she thought, smoothing her simple school outfit.
Jake noticed Alice looking around, and with a friendly smile, he approached her. "Hi, I'm Jake. Are you new here?" he asked, extending a hand. Alice shook his hand warmly, her own smile brightening her face. "Yes, I'm Alice. It's nice to meet you!"
Alice and Jake walked side by side, their footsteps echoing softly. "Which class are you heading to?" Alice asked, glancing at the schedule in her hand. "Math with Mr. Thompson. You?" "Same! That's great, we can sit together," she replied, feeling a sense of relief.
Alice and Jake entered the classroom and greeted Mr. Thompson with polite smiles. Mr. Thompson[/@ch_3_d]"Welcome, Alice! Nice to have you with us,"[/@ch_3_d] [@ch_3]Mr. Thompson said warmly. The pair found seats next to each other, Alice feeling more at ease with a friendly face nearby.
Jake waved to a few classmates, introducing Alice to them. "This is Alice. She's new here," he said, and Lisa, a classmate with a welcoming smile, replied, "Great to meet you, Alice!" Alice felt a warm welcome from her new peers.
During a break, Alice and Jake chatted about their interests. "I love drawing comics," Alice shared enthusiastically. "Really? I enjoy reading them! Maybe you could show me some of your work," Jake responded, intrigued. Their shared interests sparked the beginning of what promised to be a great friendship.
As they packed their bags, Alice turned to Jake with a smile. "Thanks for showing me around today, Jake. It made my first day so much better," she said sincerely. "Anytime, Alice. See you tomorrow?" Jake replied, waving as they headed their separate ways. The promise of new adventures filled the air.
