Mama sits cross-legged on the rug, her arms cradling tiny Zaneta while Malakai, with a mop of curly hair and sparkling eyes, snuggles close by her side. The morning is peaceful, filled with warmth and the soft laughter of children.
"Mama, can we have a story?"
"Of course, sweetheart," Mama replies, brushing a gentle hand over Malakai's cheek. "Today, I want to tell you about a very special promise from God."
"Long ago, God made a promise: if we say with our mouths that Jesus is Lord, and truly believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved. That's what Romans 10:9 says," Mama continues, her voice gentle and full of wonder. Malakai's eyes grow wide, absorbing every word.
"But Mama, what does it mean to believe in our hearts?"
"Believing in your heart means you trust God, even when you can't see Him. It's like knowing I love you, even when I'm in the other room," Mama explains, giving Malakai a reassuring squeeze.
"And when you tell Jesus you love Him, and believe He is alive, that's all He asks. He promises to always be with you, no matter what," Mama whispers, her eyes shining with joy. Malakai grins, hugging his bear tighter, while Zaneta giggles, her laughter bubbling like a melody.
"Let's thank Jesus together," Mama suggests softly. Malakai nods, and the three bow their heads.
"Dear Jesus, we believe you love us. We know you are alive, and we say you are our Lord. Thank you for your promise to save us. Amen."
Malakai leans into Mama, his heart full of quiet wonder. Mama smiles, knowing that the promise of Romans 10:9 has taken root in her children’s hearts, filling their home with faith, hope, and endless love.
