Jamal, a cheerful Trinidadian boy with autism, is excited for the day ahead. His mother is preparing his favorite breakfast of coconut bake and saltfish. "Mom, can we go to the beach after breakfast?" he asks with enthusiasm.
Jamal arrives at the beach with his mother. He loves the feel of the sand between his toes and the sound of the ocean. His mother smiles, "Remember to stay close, Jamal. It's a beautiful day for building sandcastles!" Jamal nods eagerly, already planning his next creation.
Emma, a kind-hearted Jamaican girl visiting Trinidad, notices Jamal building his sandcastle. She approaches with a smile. "Can I help you with your sandcastle?" she asks. Jamal beams, delighted to have a new friend. "Yes, let's make it the biggest one ever!"
The sandcastle grows taller with towers and a moat, attracting the attention of other children. "Look at all the shells we've found," says Emma, her voice full of excitement. Jamal nods, "It's the best castle on the beach!" Their teamwork and creativity draw admiration from everyone around.
Jamal's mother claps her hands. "You both did an amazing job," she praises. Emma grins and looks at Jamal, "We make a great team!" Jamal agrees, feeling proud and happy to have made a new friend.
Jamal walks beside his mother, reflecting on the day's adventures. "I had so much fun today," he says softly. His mother squeezes his hand, "I'm glad, Jamal. Making new friends is a wonderful adventure," she replies. Jamal smiles, looking forward to more days like this in the future.
