Amina held her mother's hand tightly, her heart racing with excitement at the thought of seeing Khadija again. As they walked down the jasmine-lined path, she spotted her grandmother waving from the doorway of the quaint, old house. "Welcome, my dear Amina," Khadija exclaimed, enveloping Amina in a warm embrace that made her feel instantly at home.
Amina wandered among the flowers, her eyes wide with wonder, when a faint meowing caught her attention. Beneath a rosebush lay a small, sick kitten, its eyes pleading for help. Amina's heart ached with sadness as she gently picked up the kitten and hurried inside to show her grandmother. "Don't worry, Amina," Khadija reassured her with a smile. "We'll take good care of this little one."
Hamid, in his excitement, accidentally stepped on Amina's treasured doll, snapping its arm. A surge of anger washed over Amina as she shouted, her frustration bubbling over. "I'm sorry, Amina," Hamid said, his face filled with regret. But Amina turned away, her heart heavy with disappointment.
Khadija gently took Amina's hand, her voice soothing. "It's natural to feel angry, my dear, but it's important to recognize that your cousin didn't mean to hurt you," she explained softly. Amina nodded slowly, her anger subsiding, and she realized that forgiving Hamid was more important than holding onto her frustration.
Amina approached Hamid, her heart lighter now. "I'm sorry for yelling," she said, offering her hand. "Let's fix the doll together," Hamid suggested with a smile. They shook hands, the bond between them mended.
"Today, you learned about the many emotions we feel," Khadija said softly. Amina reflected on her grandmother's words, understanding the importance of recognizing and managing her feelings. With this newfound wisdom, she closed her eyes, feeling content and at peace, ready to embrace whatever emotions tomorrow might bring.
