Andre sat on the edge of his bed, clutching his favorite teddy bear tightly. His eyes darted nervously around the room, each shadow seeming to morph into a mysterious creature. "Dad, I'm scared," he whispered, his voice barely audible over the gentle rustling of leaves outside.
Mr. Thompson knelt beside Andre's bed, his eyes filled with understanding. "It's okay to be afraid, Andre," he said softly. "Even the bravest knights had their fears. Let me tell you about a special knight who found friendship in the most unlikely places."
As Mr. Thompson spoke, Andre imagined a brave knight named Sir Lumin, who rode through forests of shadows. "Sir Lumin discovered that the shadows were not foes but friends, guiding him with their gentle whispers," Mr. Thompson narrated, his voice steady and warm.
Andre's fear began to melt away, replaced by curiosity and wonder. "So, shadows can be friends too?" he asked, his eyes wide with newfound understanding. "Exactly, Andre," Mr. Thompson replied with a smile. "They can show you things you never noticed before."
Andre looked around his room, seeing it through different eyes. The shadows were no longer menacing; they were part of his kingdom, waiting to play. "Maybe they can help me find hidden treasures," he giggled, feeling braver than ever.
Mr. Thompson tucked Andre in, planting a gentle kiss on his forehead. "Goodnight, my brave knight," he whispered before turning off the light, leaving the nightlight to glow softly. As Andre drifted into sleep, the shadows danced around him, now guardians of his dreams.
