Anis stood at the curb, her eyes following her friends as they cycled away towards the park. Her heart ached with a longing to join them, but the absence of her own bicycle tethered her to the spot. She sighed deeply, the sound drowned by the distant cheers and chatter of her friends.
Curiosity piqued, Anis pushed the door open just enough to slip inside. Her eyes widened at the sight of a forgotten bicycle leaning against the wall, covered in a thick layer of dust. Its frame was a faded shade of blue, and the tires sagged with neglect, but to Anis, it was a treasure waiting to be uncovered.
"Could this really be mine?" she whispered to herself, her fingers brushing over the handlebar. The thought of riding alongside her friends filled her with a renewed sense of hope. Determined, she began to wipe away the grime, revealing the bike's true color beneath.
Her hands were smudged with dirt, but her spirit soared. Anis stepped back to admire her handiwork, a smile spreading across her face. It wasn't new, but it was hers, and that was enough.
Her friends, now returning from the park, spotted her and cheered. "Hey, Anis! Where'd you get that bike?" Anis grinned and shrugged, her eyes twinkling with happiness. "It found me," she replied, mounting the bike and joining them with newfound freedom.
With the wind in her hair and laughter in her ears, she pedaled faster, her heart as light as the breeze that accompanied her every move. The world was hers to explore, and she embraced it wholeheartedly.
