Anna stood at the edge of the bustling pathway, her small hands gripping her mother’s fingers tightly. Her wide eyes darted across the unfamiliar faces and towering school entrance.
"Mama, I don't want to go,"
Her mother knelt beside her, wrapping her in a gentle embrace.
"You're feeling nervous, sweetie. It's normal to feel that way on your first day,"
Anna peered through the open door, her heart thudding as she saw rows of small desks and a sea of new faces. The classroom walls were decorated with cheerful posters and a big calendar marked “First Day!”
Teacher X appeared at the doorway, her smile warm and reassuring.
"Hi Anna, welcome! Come meet your new friends,"
Teacher X knelt down, her voice gentle but clear.
"It's okay to feel nervous. Everyone's feeling it today – it's our first day! What made you feel nervous, Anna?"
Anna hesitated, her voice a whisper.
"I don't know anyone... and I don't know the rules,"
Teacher X smiled, nodding in understanding.
"We can fix that! Let's introduce ourselves. What's your favorite thing to do?"
Anna thought for a moment, her face brightening.
"I like painting, playing with blocks and the sandpit!"
Teacher X grinned.
"We have a big block corner! Want to help me set it up?"
Anna nodded, hands reaching for the blocks. Soon, other children gathered around, their curious faces turning friendly.
Max scooted closer, his eyes wide with excitement.
"I'm Max. Want to build a castle?"
Anna smiled, gently fitting a block on top of Max’s tower. Her nerves faded as she joined the laughter and chatter, her hands busy and her heart lighter.
Teacher X opened the book, her voice carrying everyone into the world of a brave explorer discovering new lands. Anna nestled into a cushion, her worries now far away.
"What do you think the explorer felt?"
Anna raised her hand confidently.
"Nervous... but excited!"
Teacher X ushered everyone outside, and Anna ran forward, the sun warming her cheeks. She climbed the slide, her heart pounding in exhilaration.
"Wheeee!"
Max chased after her, grinning.
"Let's do it again!"
Anna turned to Teacher X, her voice ringing with happiness.
"I did it! I was nervous, but I'm happy now,"
Teacher X smiled, meeting Anna’s eyes.
"You're brave, Anna. Everyone's first day is special. You're part of our class now!"
Anna rushed into her mother’s arms, her eyes sparkling.
"Good! I made friends, played blocks, and slid down the slide!"
Her mother squeezed her tight, pride shining in her eyes.
Anna grinned, her spirit lifted.
"I'll go back tomorrow."
Her mother smiled warmly.
"You're growing, Anna."
The End
