Aston’s footsteps slowed as he noticed a small shape huddled near the roadside. He wanted to see what it was, he approached and found a shivering puppy, its eyes wide and shaking with fear. The puppy had no tag, just a plain collar. Aston knelt down, his heart instantly going out to this lost creature. "Hey there, little guy. Where's your home?" Aston said, gently patting the puppy’s damp fur. Without a second thought, he scooped the puppy into his arms, deciding to take him home.
"Aston, who is this?" Sarah asked as Aston entered, holding the puppy. "I found him on the way back from school. Can we keep him, Mum?" Aston pleaded, his eyes shining with hope. "Let’s try to find his owner first. We'll call the vet and put up signs," Sarah replied, ruffling Aston's hair affectionately. Together, they began their search, determined to reunite the puppy with its family.
Aston and Sarah made lots of calls and visited the pound, but with each passing day, the likelihood of finding Bali’s owner were not good. Bali grew attached to Aston, following him everywhere and every day learning new tricks. "Sit, Bali!" Aston would say, and Bali listened, his tail wagging and excited. The bond between them was so strong, each new trick added to the growing friendship.
Aston felt safe with Bali by his side. The puppy had become his protector, always close, and always loyal. The months of searching had been hard work to find Bali’s owner; it had been a journey of companionship and love. "Goodnight, Bali," Aston whispered, feeling the warmth of the puppy next to him. Bali let out a small happy sigh, drifting into dreams.
"I think Bali was meant to be with us," Sarah said, her voice filled with happiness. Aston nodded, watching Bali leap with joy.
"Yeah, he's part of our family now," Aston agreed, knowing that the search had ended in the best way possible. Bali had found his forever home with them.
As they strolled down the path, Aston knew that finding Bali had been the greatest adventure. Bali had taught him about love, loyalty, and the joy of unexpected friendships. "Come on, Bali! Race you home!" Aston laughed, breaking into a run with Bali barking happily at his heels. The journey had not just been about finding a lost puppy; it had been about discovering the true meaning of family and friendship.
