Barla the Bear ambled through the woods, her nose twitching at the sweet fragrance of flowers. She paused to sniff a cluster of lilacs, then trotted happily, her fur gleaming in the morning light. The forest was alive with birdsong and the distant hum of bees.
Barla the Bear stopped suddenly, her eyes wide with surprise as she heard singing from above. Looking up, she saw a coconut with a cheerful face, its shell glistening in the sunlight. Butterflies gathered around, drawn by the mysterious music.
"Hey, what are you singing up there?"
Maisie the Coconut smiled brightly, her voice ringing clear and sweet.
"The valley, the field, the ocean, the mountains—I love you all!"
Barla the Bear giggled, her heart lightened by the coconut’s happiness.
"I'd like to learn a song too!"
"My name is Maisie and I love singing each day. I'd love to teach you a new song. My favorite song is called Walla Walla Whoop Whoop!"
"That's silly, how do I sing this song?"
"Walla Walla, whoop, whoop, snoop snoop Walla Walla whoop, whoop scoop scoop, Walla Walla whoop, whoop, Walla Walla whoop whoop with no poop poop."
Barla the Bear burst out laughing, her deep chuckles echoing through the trees. She tried to sing along, stumbling over the funny words at first, then gaining confidence as Maisie encouraged her.
"Whala whala whoop, whoop, snoop snoop, Walla Walla whoop, whoop, whoop whoop Walla Walla whoop poop Walla Walla whoop, whoop snoop snoop!"
The two friends giggled, their voices blending with the melody of the forest.
Barla the Bear and Maisie the Coconut sang together, inventing verses and laughing at their silliness. The forest animals gathered nearby, enchanted by their joyful music. From that day on, Barla sang every morning, remembering her friend Maisie and their special song—Walla Walla Whoop Whoop.
