Lila was sprawled on the grass, her curly hair shimmering in the sunlight as she intently colored a picture of a treehouse with her favorite crayons. Her nimble fingers moved swiftly, bringing to life the imaginary world she often escaped to. "This is where I'll show you everything," she whispered to her unborn sibling, patting her mom's growing belly gently.
Mom, with her kind eyes and warm smile, was folding tiny clothes. "Are you excited to be a big sister, Lila?" she asked, glancing at her daughter who had just wandered in.
"I am! But what if the baby doesn't like treehouses?" Lila pondered aloud, her brow furrowing with genuine concern.
Lila climbed up the treehouse ladder with her trusty stuffed bunny in tow. Bunny, her constant companion, was always ready for an adventure. "We'll teach them how to find the best hiding spots and where the secret treasure is buried," she declared, her voice filled with excitement.
Lila rested her chin on her knees, deep in thought. "Do you think they'll like me, Bunny?" she asked softly, her voice barely a whisper. She hugged Bunny close, seeking reassurance in the twilight.
"Of course they will, sweetheart," Mom reassured, her voice gentle and soothing. "You're going to be the best big sister anyone could ask for." She kissed Lila's forehead, leaving a promise of love and warmth.
In her dreams, Lila saw herself guiding a smaller hand up the treehouse ladder, both of them giggling as they reached the top. "Welcome to our world," she said, feeling the warmth of family wrap around her like a soft blanket.
