Mom tucked Nate into his cozy bed, smoothing the blankets over him with a tender touch. The room was quiet, save for the distant chirping of crickets outside. "Are you ready for a bedtime story, sweetheart?" she asked, her voice a soothing melody.
"Yes, please, Mommy!" Nate replied, his eyes bright with anticipation as he snuggled deeper into his pillow.
Mom sat beside Nate, her presence as reassuring as the soft glow of the nightlight. "Tonight, I want to tell you about how much Jesus loves you," she began, her voice wrapping around Nate like a warm hug.
"Did you know, Nate, that Jesus loves you so much? He has a special purpose just for you," Mom continued, her words painting a picture of love and destiny.
Nate listened intently, his little fingers tracing patterns on the blanket. "What's a purpose, Mommy?" he asked, curiosity dancing in his eyes.
Mom smiled, her heart swelling with love. "A purpose is like a special job that only you can do, something that makes the world a better place," she explained, her words simple yet profound.
Mom took Nate's small hands in hers, their fingers intertwining in a comforting hold. "Let's pray together, shall we?" she suggested, her voice a gentle invitation.
"Yes, let's pray," Nate agreed, closing his eyes as he nestled closer to Mom.
Mom began their prayer, her words a lullaby of faith and hope. "Thank you, Jesus, for loving Nate and giving him a special purpose. Please watch over him as he sleeps and fill his dreams with peace and joy," she prayed, her voice a whisper in the night.
Nate's breathing slowed, his body relaxing with each word. "Amen," he murmured softly, drifting into a peaceful slumber.
Mom kissed Nate's forehead gently, brushing a stray curl away from his face. "Goodnight, my dear Nate," she whispered, her heart full of love.
Mom stood up quietly, leaving the door slightly ajar as she stepped out into the hallway, knowing that her little boy was wrapped in the warmth of love and faith as he dreamed.
