His engine started humming softly with a gentle rumble and his headlights flickered on like big curious eyes. "Another night, another adventure awaits!" he thought.
Beep revved his engine quietly, peering through the small window toward the house where his best friend Toby slept.
Toby slipped out of bed, put on his dressing gown and his slippers, then quietly tiptoed to the garage.
"Beep! I felt you calling me. I've been waiting all day for this" he whispered.Beepbounced happily on his suspension, his blue paint shimmering under the moonlight as Toby jumped inside.
"Off we go!" Said Toby as they bounced out of the garage onto the little track road. They zoomed along, Beep's big tyres splashing through puddles.
Toby could see the stars from the dark sky reflecting in the puddles as they went. He laughed as tree branches brushed past the windows.
Beep rolled back and forth and revved his engine as hard as he could. Water splattered and splashed but he couldn't get out of the mud.
Faster and faster they went. Splashing mud as they bounced through even more puddles. Beep thought he was going to need a very good bath after tonight.
Beep tried again. He revved harder and water splashed up into the air and over the roof. Beep was covered in mud.
"Try again Beep" cried Toby once more. "You can do this, I know you can!"
Beep tried with all his might. He revved harder and harder. His wheels were spinning so fast in the mud and then suddenly they were on the side of the river bank and then ............... SPLASH! They rolled backwards, back into the little river.
"You did it Beep! I knew you could!" said Toby. Beep did feel proud of himself but he was thinking he had been a little frightened back there.
Just as the sun peeked over the horizon they arrived back at the little garage. Toby jumped out and hugged Beep's bonnet.
"Toot toot" said Beep softly and he turned off his headlights.
"See you tonight for another adventure" waved Toby as he tiptoed back into the house.
