Benny tiptoed through the backyard, drawn by the shimmer behind the hedges. He parted the leaves, revealing a secret pathway lined with glowing pebbles that seemed to hum with excitement. At the end of the path, a magical garden burst into view—flowers pulsed with rainbow colors, and a tiny wooden sign greeted him: “Welcome to the Number Garden! Solve the sums to make the flowers grow!”
"I can do that!" Benny exclaimed, his eyes bright with anticipation.
Benny approached the flower and spotted a note nestled beside its stem: “Add 23 + 14 to make me bloom.” He grinned, humming a math song as he broke down the problem step by step.
"Okay... 23 plus 10 is 33, and 33 plus 4 is 37!" As he spoke, the flower shook, then burst open in a dazzling display of colors. Benny clapped his hands in delight, marveling at the magic his math could create.
Benny read the new challenge: “Add 45 + 32 to shine our caps!” With a confident smile, he knelt beside the mushrooms, calculating piece by piece.
"Let's do this step by step. 45 plus 30 is 75... and 75 plus 2 is 77!" Instantly, the mushrooms glowed bright orange and blue, transforming the shady nook into a vibrant wonderland.
"I'm a math wizard!" Benny laughed, amazed by his own abilities.
The squirrel scampered up to Benny, chittering with excitement. It held a card in tiny paws, offering the next math challenge: “If you can add one more double-digit number, I’ll show you the secret fountain!”
Benny studied the card: “67 + 25 = ?” He counted slowly, breaking the numbers apart just like before.
"67 plus 20 is 87... and 87 plus 5 is 92!" The squirrel clapped joyfully.
"Hooray! Follow me!"
Benny ran after the squirrel, his heart pounding with excitement. The fountain shimmered, surrounded by swirling, glowing numbers.
"Every time you add numbers carefully, magic happens!" the squirrel explained, pointing at the floating digits.
"I love adding numbers—and making magic too!" Benny replied, feeling prouder than ever.
Benny made his way home, counting his steps and practicing sums in his head. Memories of glowing flowers, shining mushrooms, and friendly squirrels danced through his thoughts. He knew from now on, math could be magical, fun, and full of surprises—every number holding a new adventure, just waiting for him to discover.
