Bob pauses at the entrance, his navy blazer crisp and his shoes polished. He greets the groundskeeper with a cheerful wave before scanning the crowd for his friends. The school looms ahead, its red bricks warm in the morning light, promising a day full of possibilities.
Bob raises his hand with confidence as the lesson begins. "Miss Carter, could you explain why we use parentheses first in equations? I think it helps me see how the numbers work together," he asks, his tone both respectful and curious. Miss Carter smiles in appreciation, and the other students glance at him, eager to see what she will say.
Bob notices a classmate hesitating at the edge, unsure whether to join. He approaches with a friendly grin. "Hey, want to play with us? We could use another teammate," he offers, making space in the circle. The classmate’s face brightens, and soon everyone is laughing together.
Bob sits at the center of his group, unwrapping his sandwich. He listens as his friend recounts a funny mishap from art class, then adds his own story. "And then, just as I was about to hand in my homework, my dog sneezed on it! The teacher laughed so hard," he says, prompting a burst of giggles.
Bob pauses when he spots Mr. Lee, the science teacher, carrying a stack of books. "Let me help you with those, Mr. Lee. I’ve been reading about volcanoes—do you have any cool experiments planned?" he asks, balancing a few books as they walk. Mr. Lee’s face lights up, happy to share his excitement.
Bob lingers by the school gate, waving goodbye to his friends. He feels proud of his day—of the questions he asked, the help he offered, and the laughter he shared. "Every day at school is a new adventure," he thinks, stepping into the warm afternoon, ready for tomorrow.
