Eva Lara sat cross-legged on the floor, flipping through the pages of a well-worn storybook. Her eyes sparkled with affection as she glanced at her little brother, Levi, who was sprawled out on his stomach, crayons scattered around him.
"You know, Levi, this story always reminds me of us," Eva said with a soft smile.
Levi looked up, his eyes wide with curiosity, "Why is that, Eva?" he asked, his voice full of innocence.
"Because no matter what happens, the siblings in the story always look out for each other," Eva replied, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "Just like I always look out for you."
Levi crawled closer, resting his head on Eva's shoulder, "I like that," he murmured, comforted by her presence.
"And I promise, I'll always be here for you, no matter what," Eva whispered, wrapping an arm around him. The warmth of the moment enveloped them, a silent understanding passing between them.
Eva turned the page of the storybook, her voice steady and calm as she read aloud the tale of adventure and bravery. Levi's eyes fluttered closed, lulled by her soothing tones.
"And they lived happily ever after, side by side," Eva concluded, her voice barely above a whisper. Her heart swelled with love for her little brother, who was now peacefully asleep.
Eva watched Levi sleep, a tender smile playing on her lips. "Goodnight, little brother," she whispered, placing a gentle kiss on his forehead.
She knew that their bond was unbreakable, strengthened by shared stories and cherished moments, and she vowed to always be his protector and confidante.
