Bella the Bumblebee gazed at the wide, wonderful world beyond her hive. She felt so much smaller than the tall flowers and towering trees around her. The other bees zipped and zoomed, but she barely fluttered from bloom to bloom. "I wish I were brave and bold, but I’m just little me," she whispered to a ladybug nearby.
Benny the Butterfly, with gentle eyes and sparkling wings, smiled at Bella. "Even the tiniest wings can fly the farthest, if they try," he said, fluttering gently. Gus the Grasshopper hopped by, flipping in the air, and called out with a giggle, "The bravest jumps start with little hops!" Bella felt a warm flutter in her heart, but still, uncertainty clung to her stripes.
Milo[/@ch_4], is swept away, his buzz fading into the breeze.]
A wild wind whooshed through the meadow, tumbling Milo far from the hive. Bella's heart skipped. Fear prickled in her tiny feet. The other bees huddled close, whispering worriedly. "Milo needs help... but I’m not brave enough," she thought, watching the petals dance in the wind.
"Just one flap at a time, Bella!" "Don’t look down—look for Milo!" Bella wobbled, the wind tugging at her tiny wings, but she took off—first just a little, then a little more. Each flutter felt like a mountain climbed. She pushed through the shivery air, calling out, "Milo, where are you?"
Bella buzzed forward, her heart thumping like a drum. She squeezed under the daisy’s petal, whispering softly, "It’s okay, Milo. I’m here!" Together, they wriggled free, and Bella led the way—her wings steady, her fear shrinking with every beat.
Gus cheered, "Bella the Brave! Bella the Brave!" Benny fluttered close, "You found your courage, little bee," and Milo nuzzled Bella gratefully. Bella smiled, her heart glowing brighter than the rainbow above.
"I was brave like a bumblebee," she said softly, feeling big and bold inside. Benny nodded, "Bravery starts with believing in yourself," and Gus somersaulted happily. Bella knew she would always remember: small wings, big heart, and endless courage.
