Bruno ran to the slide, excited and ready to play. He saw a line of friends waiting their turn. Cora, his best friend, waved at him.
Bruno bounced up and down. “I want to go now! Why do I have to wait?” he said, feeling upset.
Cora came closer and smiled. “Waiting can be hard, Bruno. Let’s try something to help.” She put her paws on her belly and took a deep, slow breath. “Breathe with me,” she said.
Bruno copied Cora and breathed slowly in and out. “Let’s count the clouds,” Cora said, pointing up. They counted one, two, three fluffy clouds.
Bruno felt calm. His shoulders relaxed, and he smiled.
Soon, it was Bruno’s turn. He looked at Cora and said, “Thank you for helping me wait! That was fun.”
Bruno and Cora slid down together, laughing as the wind blew on their faces. Then, they ran to the swings, ready for more fun.
