Benny wakes up and stretches, his big blue eyes shining with curiosity. He wraps his light blue scarf around his neck and peeks outside. The morning is bright and full of promise.
Benny hops closer to the edge of the forest. He wonders what secrets lie beyond the trees. "I wonder what’s inside the forest," he whispers to himself.
Benny takes a deep breath and takes his first step into the forest. His heart beats fast, but he feels brave inside. His scarf flutters as he walks.
Benny smiles and waves. "Hello! My name is Benny," he says kindly. The squirrel giggles and introduces herself as Nutmeg.
Nutmeg tells Benny about her favorite acorn tree. "Would you like to see it?" she asks. Benny nods eagerly, excited for adventure.
Nutmeg shows Benny how to find the tastiest acorns. Benny tries one and smiles. "Thank you, Nutmeg! This is delicious," he says.
Nutmeg introduces her friend, the hedgehog, named Hazel. Hazel rolls over with a smile. "Nice to meet you, Benny!"
Benny feels happy with his new friends. They look for secret hideaways and play gentle games of hide-and-seek. Laughter fills the air.
Nutmeg and Hazel cross easily, but Benny hesitates. He feels a little afraid of slipping. Hazel smiles, "You can do it, Benny! We’re right here,"
Benny takes careful steps, his heart pounding. He focuses on his friends’ smiles and reaches the other side safely. "I did it!"
The friends walk deeper into the forest. Benny feels both excited and a little nervous. He holds his scarf tighter for comfort.
Benny stops and listens. Nutmeg and Hazel look around, their eyes wide. "What was that noise?" whispers Nutmeg.
A storm is coming. Benny feels a flutter of worry in his tummy. Hazel suggests they find shelter together.
They huddle close as the first raindrops fall. The sound of thunder rumbles in the distance, and Benny’s ears droop.
Benny feels scared, but he sees Nutmeg and Hazel shivering too. He wants to be brave for his friends. "We’re safe together," he says gently.
Hazel smiles and snuggles close. Nutmeg wipes away a tear. Benny holds their paws, feeling his courage grow.
Benny takes a deep breath and hums a gentle song. "Let’s sing together. It will help us feel brave," he says.
The storm outside feels a little less scary. Benny’s heart feels lighter as he sings.
The friends peek outside and see the forest shining. Puddles glisten, and birds begin to sing again.
Benny steps out bravely, water droplets clinging to his fur. His friends follow, smiling and laughing together.
Benny feels proud of himself for being brave. He shares his happiness with Nutmeg and Hazel.
Benny hugs his friends and thanks them for being by his side. "I couldn’t have done it without you," he says.
Nutmeg and Hazel walk with him to the forest edge. They promise to play together again soon.
Benny feels warm and happy inside. His scarf is a little damp, but his heart is full of courage.
He looks back at the forest, smiling. "I am brave. I am strong. I am loved," he whispers.
Benny closes his eyes, dreaming of new adventures and happy days with friends. The forest feels like a friend, too.
The brave little bunny knows he can face anything—with courage, friendship, and a kind heart.
