Benny the Bunny blinked in the soft morning light, stretching his long ears and wriggling his nose. He felt a tickle of excitement, as today he would race across the fields like every other day. But when he tried to hop, his legs wouldn’t move the way he remembered.
Benny frowned, trying again and again, but each attempt ended with a tiny shuffle or a slow crawl. He glanced at his little white tail, puzzled and anxious. "Why can’t I hop? Did I forget how in my sleep?" he whispered, hoping someone might hear.
Toby the Tortoise, slow and steady, paused beside Benny. "Is something troubling you, young bunny?" he asked with a kind smile. "I can’t hop anymore, Toby. I forgot how," confessed Benny, his eyes wide with worry.
Robin the Robin fluttered onto a low branch. "Maybe if we all try to help, you’ll remember," she chirped, her feathers gleaming in the sun. Hazel the Squirrel bounded over, demonstrating a bouncy hop, while Milo the Mole offered encouragement from the sidelines.
Benny concentrated hard, listening to his friends’ advice. At first, his legs trembled, and he stumbled forward, but laughter and cheers filled the air as he tried again. "Just feel the earth and trust your paws!" encouraged Hazel, her bushy tail flickering with excitement.
With a deep breath, Benny pushed off with all his might—and suddenly, he was airborne, landing softly a few feet away. Joy radiated from his whiskers as his friends erupted in delighted applause. "I remember! I can hop again!" he exclaimed, bounding in circles as the fireflies danced around him.
