Carla the Capybara sat on the river’s edge, her brown fur shimmering in the golden light. She watched the water ripple, dreaming of the adventures the day might bring. Today, she hoped to find something special to share with her friends.
"Carla, let’s play treasure hunt in the meadow!"
"That sounds like a wonderful idea, Lila. Benny, will you join us?"
"I wouldn’t miss it for the world," Benny replied, his eyes shining with happiness.
Carla dug around the stone and pulled it free, holding it up for her friends to see. The stone gleamed with all the colors of the rainbow, mesmerizing everyone. For a moment, the friends stared at it in awe, imagining what it could be worth.
"It’s so pretty! Maybe it could be mine for a day, and then we all take turns?"
"Or perhaps it should stay with whoever found it first," Benny suggested, glancing at Carla.
"I... I want to keep it," Carla said softly, feeling a pang of guilt. She remembered a voice in her heart telling her to do what was right.
"Friends, I found the stone, but I don’t want to be greedy. Let’s put it in the middle of the meadow so everyone who visits can enjoy its beauty," Carla declared.
"That’s a wonderful idea, Carla. You have a truly honest heart," Benny said warmly.
"I’m proud of you, Carla," Lila added, giving her a splashy hug.
Carla felt a warm glow in her heart, knowing she had chosen honesty and shared happiness with everyone. The friends played until sunset, grateful for each other and the lesson they had learned. In the end, they knew that true treasure was found in kindness, honesty, and friendship.
