Cecilia, a lively six-year-old with curly dirty blonde hair and bright blue eyes, sat at her desk, wiggling with excitement. She was known for her big feelings, especially when things didn’t go her way. But today was going to be special! "I don’t want to do math!" she said, pouting a bit.
Mr. Bentley was tall and friendly, always wearing his colorful bow tie. "Today, we’re going to draw something that makes us feel SUPER happy or maybe a little bit grumpy!" he announced with excitement. Cecilia frowned. She felt a storm brewing inside her.
Choosing a bright red crayon, she pressed it onto the paper, feeling a little magic as she drew. The more she drew, the calmer she felt. "Wow, this feels nice!" she whispered, surprised.
Mr. Bentley walked over, his eyes twinkling. "Look at that, Cecilia! Art is a great way to show how we feel!" he said, beaming. Cecilia smiled back, feeling proud. "I didn’t know drawing could be so much fun!" she exclaimed.
Mr. Bentley placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "Whenever you feel a little grumpy, just remember to draw!" he said kindly. Cecilia nodded, feeling lighter than a feather. She had found a new way to let her feelings out.
Cecilia tucked her drawing in her backpack, a treasure of her adventure. She waved goodbye to Mr. Bentley, her heart bubbling with joy. "I’ll keep drawing!" she promised, stepping into the bright sunshine of a brand-new day.
