Charleston Reign, a tiny bundle of curiosity with chubby cheeks and wide eyes, clings to her mother’s hand as they enter the dentist’s office for the very first time. Plush toys and picture books are scattered across the miniature chairs, inviting little ones to play. The gentle hum of the fish tank soothes her nerves, and her mother kneels down, brushing a stray curl from Charleston’s forehead.
Mrs. Lexie, the dental hygienist, greets them with a beaming smile and a playful wave. "Hello, Charleston! Welcome to our tooth fairy castle! Are you ready for some fun?" Her voice is as warm as sunshine, and she bends down to Charleston’s level, offering a sticker shaped like a star. Charleston giggles, shy but intrigued by the friendly stranger.
Mrs. Lexie lifts Charleston onto the chair, letting her press the button that makes it go up and down. "This is your rocket ship today!" she says, then lets her choose a polka-dot bib before gently tilting the chair back, pointing out a smiling sun sticker above her.
Mrs. Lexie holds up a little mirror so Charleston can watch as her tiny teeth sparkle with each gentle swirl. "See how your teeth are getting shiny, just like magic jewels?" she coos, making silly faces to keep Charleston giggling. The soft bristles tickle, and Charleston squirms with laughter, clapping her hands with delight.
Mrs. Lexie leans in close, her eyes kind behind her pink mask. "Your baby teeth are coming through so nicely! Sometimes your gums might feel sore, and that’s just your new teeth saying hello," she explains, turning to Charleston’s mom. "You can help her by gently rubbing her gums with a cool, damp cloth or giving her a teething ring. Lots of cuddles help too." Charleston watches, curious and calm, as her mom nods in understanding.
Mrs. Lexie hands Charleston a shiny tooth-shaped sticker and a small, soft dinosaur toy as a prize for her bravery. "You were a superstar today, Charleston! We can’t wait to see you again," she says, giving a cheerful wave. As Charleston leaves, clutching her new treasures and her mother’s hand, she looks back at the friendly faces and bright colors, already excited for her next magical visit.
