In the heart of a bustling farm, there lived a remarkable hen named Clotilde. Known for her distinctive large white eggs, Clotilde was a beloved figure among the other animals. She had a nest nestled in the corner of the barn, where the morning light spilled warmly over her feathers.
One day, Clotilde laid a particularly special egg. It was larger and more radiant than any she had ever laid before. Inside, a tiny chick was growing, eager to greet the world. The other animals, from the sheep to the goats, gathered around, intrigued by this unusual egg.
Days passed, and Clotilde's devotion was unwavering. She kept the egg warm beneath her feathers, gently turning it with her beak. "Don't you worry, little one," she cooed softly, feeling the gentle movements from within. Her heart swelled with love and anticipation.
Then came the day when a faint cracking sound echoed in the barn. With bated breath, Clotilde watched as the egg began to break open. Piece by piece, a tiny beak appeared, followed by a small, fluffy head. The chick struggled, but with each determined push, it broke free from its shell.
Out stumbled Pío, a small, yellow chick covered in soft down. Clotilde chirped happily, nuzzling her newborn with pride. "Welcome to the world, Pío," she said warmly. Pío peeped in response, his eyes wide with wonder at the vast world around him.
Time flew by, and Pío grew rapidly. Clotilde taught him how to peck the ground for grain and flap his wings in delight. His downy feathers gave way to strong, vibrant plumage. He learned the songs of the barn, and soon his voice joined the familiar chorus. "You've grown so much, my dear Pío," Clotilde remarked, pride evident in her tone.
Pío matured into a strong adult rooster, his feathers gleaming like polished gold under the moonlight. He now helped Clotilde care for the younger chicks, ensuring the barn remained a safe haven. As he crowed at dawn, Pío felt content, knowing he had grown into his role on the farm, ready to face each new day with courage and joy.
