Farmer Joe stood by the coop, a weathered notebook in hand, his face a picture of concentration as he counted his flock.
"Thirty-eight, thirty-nine... where's Henrietta?"
Farmer Joe scanned the area, his boots crunching on the gravel path as he walked.
"Henrietta, where have you wandered off to this time?"
Farmer Joe chuckled, kneeling beside the proud hen.
"You clever girl. Looks like we have some future additions to the family!"
Farmer Joe sat by the table, his notebook open, a smile on his face as he updated the count.
"Forty-three now, thanks to Henrietta's surprise," he mused aloud.
Farmer Joe looked out the window, content with the day's discoveries.
"Tomorrow's another day of counting," he thought, closing his notebook with a satisfied sigh.
