Polly the Parrot, feathers bright beneath her red crayon suit, flutters excitedly atop a branch. Beside her, Leo the Lion adjusts his orange crayon hat, his mane peeking out from underneath. Max the Monkey swings down in yellow, grinning as he lands next to Sammy the Squirrel, who sports a leafy green crayon tail. The group is abuzz with anticipation for their annual Crayon Song performance.
"Everyone ready? Let’s make this the brightest song ever!"
The jungle echoes with laughter as the animals line up, each in their crayon costume. Mrs Sheep, fluffy and proud, steps forward in her blue crayon dress, while Tony the Tiger’s stripes peek out from his deep purple. The brown and white of Mr Mandy and Mrs Wendy contrast sharply with the sleek black of Mr Mandy’s brother, drawing admiring glances from the crowd.
"Let’s sing together, everyone! From red to black, every color counts,"
"I’ll start with yellow, and we’ll go in a circle,"
Max’s slip sends a splash of paint across the crayon costumes, turning bright colors into a wild swirl. Polly’s red becomes a streaky orange, Leo’s orange turns splotchy with green, and Mrs Sheep’s blue is splattered with brown. The audience gasps, and the music falters as the animals stare at their muddied costumes.
"Oh no! Our colors are all mixed up!"
"Don’t worry, everyone. Maybe we can make this work,"
Mrs Wendy, her white crayon now dotted with rainbow specks, gathers the group into a huddle. Mr Mandy’s brother, still mostly black, offers a reassuring nod. With a determined glint, Leo proposes a new plan.
"Why not sing about all the colors mixing? We can make a new crayon song—one about what happens when things go wrong,"
"Yes! We’re even more colorful this way. Let’s show everyone how fun a mess can be,"
Music swells as the group launches into a new version of the Crayon Song, celebrating mixed-up colors and the joy of creativity. The crowd laughs and claps, swept up in the playful spirit. Even the birds overhead join in, chirping along with the melody.
"Red, orange, yellow, green, and blue—now we’re even better, just look at our crew!"
"Sometimes the best songs are the ones you don’t plan,"
The friends gather for a group hug, laughing over their unexpected adventure. The ruined crayon song has become a memory they will cherish forever, proof that even chaos can lead to something wonderful.
"Next year, let’s try tie-dye instead,"
"Only if Max promises to stay away from the paint!"
