Daisy, a graceful white duck with a soft golden beak, paddled slowly across the pond, her feathers glinting in the morning light. On the far side, amidst the tall reeds, she noticed a pair of curious amber eyes watching her. As she drew closer, she saw the striped form of Rajah, a young tiger whose orange coat seemed to glow beneath the dappling sunlight. Daisy was cautious but intrigued.
Rajah stepped forward with gentle, hesitant paws, his large shadow falling over the lily pads. "Hello there," she quacked, her voice echoing across the still water. Rajah blinked, surprised by her friendliness, before offering a soft rumble in reply. "I’ve never met a duck before. Do you live here by the pond?"
Daisy nodded, gliding closer, and soon the two were exchanging stories about their homes—Daisy about her family on the river, Rajah about the jungle trails he explored. "Have you ever tried to catch a fish with your beak?" she teased. "Not with my beak, but I once tried with my tail! It didn’t go well—the fish laughed at me," Rajah replied, and both burst into delighted laughter.
They spent hours together, learning each other's ways—Daisy showed Rajah how to float on the current, and Rajah taught Daisy how to listen for the songs of the forest. "I never thought a tiger and a duck could be friends," Daisy mused. "The forest has many surprises. I think we make a good team," Rajah replied, his tail flicking playfully.
As twilight deepened, Daisy and Rajah promised to meet again at the pond. "There’s so much more I want to show you," Daisy said wistfully. "And I have secret jungle places to share. Tomorrow, let’s explore them together," Rajah replied, hope sparkling in his eyes.
Daisy paddled home, her heart light and joyful, while Rajah melted into the shadows, already dreaming of their next adventure. In the peaceful, shimmering world by the river, a unique friendship had begun, and the story was only just unfolding.
