Daisy, a bright white duck with a golden beak, paddles cheerfully along the riverbank, her feathers glistening in the morning light. She enjoys the solitude, pausing to watch dragonflies skimming across the pond’s surface. Suddenly, a rustle in the reeds catches her attention, and she freezes, heart thumping with curiosity.
Rajah, the young adult tiger, steps cautiously from the cover of ferns. His powerful body moves with silent grace, but there’s a gentleness in his posture as he lowers himself to the ground. "Hello there, little one. Are you not afraid of me?"
"Oh! I suppose I should be," Daisy replies, feathers ruffling nervously. "But you don’t seem scary at all—just… curious." The morning air is filled with the soft sounds of water and birdsong as the two animals study each other.
Rajah sits back on his haunches, careful not to make any sudden moves. "I’ve seen ducks before, but none as bold as you. My name is Rajah," he says, his tone warm and inviting. Daisy relaxes a little, gliding closer until she can see her reflection beside his in the glassy water.
"I’m Daisy. The pond is my favorite place, but it can get lonely," she admits. The forest feels less daunting with someone to talk to, even if he is a tiger.
