Daisy, a small emerald dragon with shimmering scales and bright, curious eyes, stretched her wings beside a peaceful brook. She watched as her older siblings soared overhead, leaving trails of smoke and sparks in the air. Her heart ached to join them, but all she could muster was a gentle puff of warm air.
Elder Bramwell, the wise and kindly elder dragon, watched as Daisy tried again and again to breathe fire, but only managed a tiny sneeze.
"Why can't I breathe fire like everyone else?"
Elder Bramwell rumbled softly, his scales glinting in the sun.
"Every dragon finds their spark in their own time, Daisy. Sometimes, the greatest gifts take time to reveal themselves."
Daisy sat atop a mossy stone, watching her reflection ripple in the water. She took a deep breath, closing her eyes, trying to summon the fiery power she longed for. Instead, a gentle swirl of sparkling mist drifted from her nostrils, swirling upward like a tiny aurora.
Drawn by the beauty of her mist, Daisy followed it through the dark, winding paths. She discovered a patch of enchanted flowers, wilting in the night chill.
"Maybe my breath can help," she whispered, gently blowing her mist over the petals. The flowers shimmered, lifting their heads as if waking from a long sleep.
Elder Bramwell noticed the transformed glade and the thriving blooms.
"Daisy, your breath brings life, not fire. That is a rare and wondrous gift indeed," he announced.
The other dragons gathered around, their eyes wide with admiration.
Lina, Daisy’s sister, nuzzled her.
"I wish I could do something so magical!"
Daisy smiled, her heart finally at ease. She soared above the celebration, her sparkling mist trailing behind, painting the sky with shimmering lights.
"I may not breathe fire, but I can fill the world with beauty," she whispered, feeling more dragon than ever before.
