Max giggled as he watched the butterfly dance through the air. Daisy, his loyal golden retriever, wagged her tail excitedly beside him. Grandma Lily called out from the porch, reminding Max to stay on the trail. "Okay, Grandma!" he shouted back, but his attention was already on the butterfly as it fluttered deeper into the woods. Daisy barked a warning, but Max was too captivated to notice.
Max yelped as he tumbled down, his heart racing with a mix of fear and surprise. The vines wrapped around him like a net, holding him in place. "Help!" he called out, but his voice was swallowed by the forest. Daisy stood at the top of the hill, barking anxiously, her eyes fixed on her trapped friend.
Daisy sprinted through the woods, her paws pounding the earth with urgency. She reached Grandma Lily, tugging at her dress and barking insistently. Grandma Lily looked down, understanding immediately that something was wrong. "What's wrong, Daisy? Show me," she urged, following the determined dog.
Forest Ranger Ben arrived quickly, his uniform crisp and reassuring. Grandma Lily explained the situation as Daisy led them to Max. Ranger Ben used his tools to cut through the vines, freeing Max with ease. "Thank you, Daisy!" Max exclaimed, hugging his brave companion tightly.
Grandma Lily smiled as she watched Max play with Daisy, her heart full of gratitude. "Daisy, you're a hero," she praised, handing her an extra treat. The next day, Max and Daisy visited Ranger Ben at the ranger station. Together, they learned about safety in the woods, promising to always stick together on their adventures. "We'll be the best team ever!" Max declared, and Daisy barked in happy agreement.
