Daniel, a wide-eyed three-year-old boy in dinosaur pajamas, sits cross-legged in front of the screen, clutching his favorite blue blanket. His gaze is fixed on the television as Count von Count, with his purple cape and friendly fangs, begins counting bats in a moonlit castle. The room feels safe and familiar, but a strange shimmer dances across the TV’s surface.
"Look, Mommy! The Count is counting bats! One, two, three..."
Suddenly, Count von Count leans closer to the “camera,” his eyes twinkling with mischief. His voice echoes, a little louder and brighter than usual.
"Ah, ah, ah! Daniel, would you like to help me count? Step a little closer, my friend!"
The television glows with a magical light, and Daniel feels a gentle tug, as if invisible fingers are pulling him forward.
Daniel blinks in amazement, his blanket still in hand. The air is filled with laughter and the familiar melody of Sesame Street. Count von Count stands nearby, arms wide in welcome, surrounded by friendly bats.
"Welcome, Daniel! You are now in my world of numbers! Let us count everything we see—together!"
Daniel and Count von Count skip along, counting flowers, singing numbers, and laughing with Elmo and Grover as they join the fun.
"One, two, three, four! Four happy friends!"
"Ah, ah, ah! Wonderful counting, Daniel! You are a natural, yes!"
The street sparkles with joy as every step brings a new discovery: pigeons on rooftops, bouncing balls, and cheerful, animated numbers.
Count von Count kneels beside Daniel, smiling kindly. The magical shimmer returns, swirling around Daniel’s feet.
"It is time for you to go home, little Daniel, but you will always be part of our Sesame Street family. Remember, numbers are everywhere!"
"Will I see you again, Count?"
"Of course! Whenever you count, I am with you. Ah, ah, ah!"
He grins, his eyes sparkling with wonder and excitement. His mother peeks in, noticing his joy.
"Mommy, I counted with the Count! It was the best day ever!"
The TV screen glimmers one last time, and a gentle laugh echoes—Count von Count, always just a number away.
