Dary darted between the clover patches, his heart racing with excitement for the day’s big race. The sky was painted in hues of peach and gold, and the cool earth beneath his paws felt alive with possibility. As he stretched his legs, he whispered, "Today, I’ll show everyone just how fast I am!"
Dary lined up with the other animals, his nose twitching with anticipation. His friend, a chubby hedgehog, winked encouragingly from the sidelines. The squirrel called out, "On your marks... get set... go!" The racers burst forward, paws and hooves thundering over the grass.
Dary sped ahead, but as he approached the log, he spotted the mouse trembling with fear. He hesitated, glancing at the finish line just beyond the hill. The cheers of the crowd echoed in his ears, but he couldn’t ignore the mouse’s frightened eyes.

"Don’t worry, I’ll help you," he reassured the mouse, gently nudging her onto his back. Carefully, he hopped over the log, making sure she held on tight. The other racers zoomed past, but Dary smiled, feeling warmth bloom in his chest.
Dary arrived last, his fur dusted with dirt but his eyes shining with pride. The mouse hugged him gratefully, and the crowd quieted as the wise old owl spoke. "Kindness is its own reward, and today, Dary has won the greatest prize of all," the owl declared.

"I thought being fast was everything," Dary murmured, gazing up at the stars. "But helping a friend feels even better than winning any race." The mouse nodded, and together they watched the sky, their hearts full of joy and newfound understanding.
